OUR DAY

OUR DAY

Our Daily Routine

Our day starts at 8am where staff members will meet children and parents at our site. Children are signed in to the EY Log and teachers will have a chat to parents before starting the day with breakfast! Our site has a wooded area with a log circle where we will gather at the beginning of the day to cook our porridge and have our morning circle time. After breakfast the children will take part in a guided activity such as tool work, den building or nature inspired arts and crafts.  After snack we will have another guided activity such as a nature walk to identify plants and mini-beasts before gathering for our hot lunch at 11.30am.

In the afternoon we have another guided forest school activity such as gathering wood to make a fire before roasting some marshmallows or cooking bread over the fire. The children will then have time to free play climbing trees, swinging on our rope swing or hammock, or playing group games in the woods. We also have a permanent mud kitchen for children to cook up delicious recipes and the occasional magic potion!

At 4.30pm we have our hot tea in our log circle which is always something healthy and warming such as stew, pasta or curry. This gathering provides an opportunity for an afternoon circle time to show off any tool work creations, read a story or sing a song to round off our day. We will then work together to pack up our camp and start to wind down before with activities before our parents stay to collect us.  We will always have a chat and handover with parents to discuss their child's day before signing children out on the EY Log.
